2018 marked the 100th anniversary of the end the Great War. This marked in Bighton by an exhibition which identified all 40 men that went away to war. A village map from 1911 was sourced and each person had a brief resume of their life, service and where they lived in and arond the village which was marked on the village map. This is the first picture shown below.
Three men did not return. They were marked on Remembrance Sunday by Silhouettes placed on the pews with a description of their service and life. The names of all 40 men that served were read out by members of the congregation after ‘the silence’.
